2013 Summer Schedule

AFN has you made in the shade this summer. AFN‘s summer schedule includes shows for viewers of all tastes and ages. We’ve put together an eclectic mix of programming to keep you and your family entertained and informed during the hot season.

Returning This SummerAFN‘s primetime is packed with the most anticipated ALL NEW returning summer programs; such as acclaimed competition series America’s Got Talent, So You Think You Can Dance, Big Brother, Wipeout and MasterChef. And don’t sweat missing summer hit dramas Rookie Blue, Unforgettable, Major Crimes, Teen Wolf, Rizolli & Isles, Hot In Cleveland, The Exes, The Real World, The Fosters, Twisted and The Soul Man, because we’ve got them all. All presented to you within days of US air.

From premium TV AFN|spectrum LateNight will have ALL NEW seasons of True Blood, Dexter, The Newsroom and new HBO series Family Tree. Additionally we’ll air every episode of the Sopranos from the beginning Mondays through Thursdays at midnight starting June 24th.

Psych-BurnNotice-SuitsWe’ve also got a collection of programs from 2012 that didn’t make it to our Fall and Winter schedules. To make sure you can catch up, we’ll be airing the most recent seasons of Army Wives, Warehouse 13, True Justice, Burn Notice, Royal Pains, Continuum, Defiance, Hell’s Kitchen, Suits, Covert Affairs, Necessary Roughness, Psych, The Following, The Bible, Haven, North America and The Deadliest Catch, and more.

Summertime SunSince school is out, you may notice some adjustments to the AFN|family schedule. Weekday preschool programs will end four hours earlier and tween programs will take over at noon. Look for tween marathons of Victorious, A.N.T. Farm, I Carly, Pair Of Kings, Good Luck Charley, Austin & Ally, Jesse, House of Anubis, Shake It Up, My Babysitter’s A Vampire, Lab Rats, Level Up, I’m in the Band and Marvin, Marvin Mondays through Wednesdays from 4-7 pm. And be sure to tune-in to family double feature movies every Saturday starting at 7pm.

Here are some highlights for the summer:

So You Think You Can Dance (May 15) AFN|family 8pm CET/JKT Thursdays TV-PG
So You Think You Can DanceSeason 10 of this competition series is set to launch with a two-night event May 15th & 16th showcasing the audition rounds. Emmy nominee Cat Deeley will return to host, with Nigel Lythgoe and Mary Murphy taking their traditional spots at the judges’ table. Guest judges this season, meanwhile, will include Minnie Driver, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Wayne Brady, Stephen “tWitch” Boss and Adam Shankman. ALL NEW.

MasterChef (May 24) AFN|prime 7pm CET/JKT Wednesdays TV-14
Master ChefAward-winning chef Gordon Ramsay, restaurateur Joe Bastianich and acclaimed chef Graham Elliot return for Season Four of the culinary smash hit MasterChef. The three celebrated food experts will put the latest group of contestants through a series of exciting elimination rounds and turn one amateur cook into a culinary master. After conducting a nationwide search, the best home cooks in America will be flown to Los Angeles to present their signature dishes to the judges in hopes of earning a coveted MasterChef apron. In the next round, the talented hopefuls who earned a white apron will be put to the ultimate test in an intense lamb challenge. Those who impress the judges with their dishes will earn spots in the MasterChef kitchen and compete for the title of America’s next MasterChef. Once the auditions are over, the top home cooks will be put through their paces in a series of challenges designed to test their palates, food knowledge, passion and culinary skills. ALL NEW.

Inside Combat Rescue (May 28) AFN|prime 7pm CET/JKT Tuesdays TV-14
Inside Combat RescueThe elite Combat Rescue members of the US Air Force, Para rescue men, or PJs, have one mission: rescue American or Allied forces in extreme danger. Whether their targets are shot down or isolated behind enemy lines, surrounded, engaged, wounded, or captured by the enemy, PJs will do whatever necessary to bring those in peril home. For the first time in their history, the PJs allow camera crews to cover their missions in Afghanistan. Inside Combat Rescue is the story of the lives of these elite airmen.

Defiance (May 30) AFN|prime 8pm CET/JKT Thursdays TV-14
DefianceIn the year 2046, it’s a new Earth with new rules. Over thirty years after various alien races arrived on Earth, the landscape is completely altered, terraformed nearly beyond recognition. To the town of Defiance, on what used to be St. Louis, comes mysterious Nolan and his charge, Irisa. America's Got TalentFor the first time in America’s Got Talent history, the show has four people on its judging panel. With new judges Heidi Klum and former Spice Girl Mel B joining Howard Stern and Howie Mandel, America’s Got Talent is here for its eighth season. To accommodate the remaining episodes of The Voice, America’s Got Talent will start at 8pm June 5th & 12th, and 9pm on the 19th to eventually settle into its regular 7pm time June 26th. ALL NEW.

Sinbad (June 9) AFN|prime Pacific 2pm CET 9pm JKT Sundays TV-14
SinbadThis fantasy adventure import from the UK opens with Sinbad as a carefree street hustler in Basra. When one of his scams backfires and leads to the death of his beloved older brother, Sinbad is cursed by his grandmother. He is exiled and condemned to live forever at sea. Stowing away on the Providence, Sinbad inadvertently becomes the leader of a ragtag bunch of misfits, including a deadly Norwegian sailor, a naive ship’s doctor and a feisty female bounty hunter. True Blood (June 22) AFN|spectrum LateNight 11pm CET/JKT Saturdays TV-MA
True BloodTrue Blood’s season 5 finale left fans wanting answers to even more questions, chomping at the bit to find out the more about the mysterious Warlow. After seeing Bill bloodily transform into Bill/Lilith (Bililith?), everyone is wondering exactly what kind of monster Sookie and friends will have to deal with in season 6. Though Bill showed a brief bit of fear before spontaneously exploding, his demeanor after being reborn was anything but friendly. ALL NEW.

Dexter (July 5) AFN|spectrum LateNight 11pm CET/JKT Fridays TV-MA
DexterIs it a new beginning, or the beginning of the end for everyone’s favorite serial killer? How many more people have to suffer to keep Dexter’s identity a secret? Can this charade go on forever, or will it finally hit a dead end? In this final season, the show picks up 6 months after the LaGuerta saga, where Deb shot her boss. ALL NEW.

  1. I’ m a big fan of dexter. And while I’ m happy you’re showing the new season I was very disappointed when you stopped showing the previous seasons (nightly). I got so hooked on the show then you ended it at the 4 th season. I couldn’t really enjoy the new season because I missed about 3 seasons. 😦 thanks for your efforts though. 😉
