SHARK WEEK, a long-running stateside must-see summer TV event is coming to AFN. We’re delivering all of this year’s catch from Discovery Channel, along with some canned favorites from last season.
AFN|movie will ‘chum the waters’ with the premiere of Sharknado 2 August 6th, preceded by an encore of the 2013 viral hit Sharknado from the SyFy channel. By Sunday August 10th we’ll have shows and specials for the small fry, with Jump the Shark Sunday airing during AFN|family’s Together Time. These television events will all bring us to SHARK WEEK on AFN|Spectrum, featuring twelve hours of jaw-dropping shark specials.

AFN|spectrum Shark Week specials: MON – SUN from 5pm – 7pm Starting 8/11/14
This two-hour special explores the legend of “Submarine,” an enormous great white shark off the coast of South Africa. This nine-meter shark is said to be the largest great white shark of all time. Locals believe that this shark is responsible for countless fatal attacks, but its existence has never been proven.
Marine biologist Greg Skomal and the “Sharkcam Team” travel to the remote Pacific island of Guadalupe, home to some of the largest great white sharks on earth, to film an epic clash of the titans. Their mission: to film Jaws hunting two-ton mega seals.
Rumoured to be up to 7.5 meters long, a legendary hammerhead shark has been patrolling Florida’s shores for the past 60 years. In this one-hour special, a team of scientists and anglers look to explore the mystery and find out if the legend could be real.
In this one-hour special shark researcher Paul Clerkin heads to the Indian Ocean to investigate the ocean’s darkest depths in search of shark species that scientists never even knew existed and get a glimpse of the last known group of bioluminescent sharks in the world.

Dr. Michael Domeier has spent years scouring the Pacific Ocean hoping to solve one of the greatest mysteries of shark science: the location of great white pupping grounds. In 2013, he set the process in motion by successfully tagging a pregnant female shark that he called Gil Rakers. Now he’s returning to the sea in Spawn of Jaws 2: The Birth to follow her journey and be the first to capture the birth of a baby great white shark.

Their mission is to investigate a series of bizarre shark attacks in an area swarming with great white sharks. Another encore from shark week 2013, for years there have been stories along the bayous of Louisiana of a killer shark that stalks wildlife and people – but is this fresh-water killer the result of an ages-old voodoo curse, or just the wild imagination of moonshine-sipping fishermen? Known by the Cajun nickname “Rookin,” the mysterious killer may actually be a Bull Shark, which are able to transition from salt to fresh water, and have been known to attack people in rivers many miles inland.

Wyatt, Crash and Pesto go on a fishing trip that lands them stranded on an island. Things go from bad to worse when Crash encounters what appears to be Bigfoot, and a determined Wyatt tries to capture a photo of the beast.

When Jack and Milton meet their hero, legendary daredevil Spanky Danger, they recruit him to perform a stunt in order to raise money for the troubled Seaford Aquarium’s penguin exhibit.
Lab Rats “Cyborg Shark Attack” – 4:30pm – PREMIERE
After Leo sees a shark movie that terrifies him, Adam and Chase scare him by repurposing a Davenport Industries cyborg shark. However, the shark’s artificial intelligence goes rogue, and Chase, Adam, Leo and Janelle find themselves trapped in the house.
