AFN’s 2015 Fall Season

The 2015 fall season is upon us, and we are excited to introduce you to all the new series coming to AFN’s line-up. There are twelve brand new primetime programs, all eminent series from leading U.S. networks and cable. AFN’s schedule will also include over 60 returning nationally successful shows from previous seasons.

This year we’ve carefully planned the schedule so that we are always offering you a variety of different show types strategically grouped together on channels and times. The shows flow together with a similar appeal lowering the likelihood of you “missing out,” because your favorite shows are playing at the same time. All these new primetime shows will have quick turn-around scheduling, and will be brought to you within days of US air. The majority of AFN’s prime-time schedule follows this rule. AFN is committed to keeping you current with your favorite shows.

New Primetime Programs:

Minority Report
Premieres on AFN|pulse Tuesday September 22, 9:00pm CET/JKT

Minority ReportBased on the hit Feature film by Steven Speilberg from a story by famed science fiction writer Phillip K. Dick, the series takes place in 2065 Washington, D.C. where Dash is a Precog, with the ability to predict crimes. Unfortunately, the Pre-Crime Unit was dismantled in 2050, forcing law enforcement to rely on other methods. Before it was dismantled, Dash, his twin brother Arthur, and their foster sister Agatha were part of the program that gave them their unique gifts. Now, Dash is using his ability to assist Detective Lara Vega in preventing crimes, at the same time seeking out his missing twin and trying to keep his gift from being revealed, as there are those who want to obtain and control the precogs at any cost. Stars Meagan Good, Stark Sands, Laura Regan and Nick Zano.

Premieres on AFN|prime Wednesday September 23, 9:00pm CET/JKT

LimitlessBased on the 2011 feature film, this series revolves around Brian Finch, who discovers the brain-boosting power of the mysterious drug NZT, and is coerced by the FBI into using his cognitive abilities to solve complex cases. Working closely with him is Special Agent Rebecca Harris, a formidable investigator with a dark past, and Special Agent Boyle, a former military officer and Rebecca’s confidante. Unbeknownst to the FBI, Brian also has a clandestine relationship with Senator Edward Mora, a presidential hopeful and regular user of NZT who has plans of his own for his new protégé. Fueled now with a steady supply of NZT, Brian is more effective than all of the FBI agents combined; making him the greatest asset the Bureau has ever possessed. Stars Jake McDorman, Jennifer Carpenter, Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio, Hill Harper and Colin Salmon.

Scream Queens

Scream QueensWallace University is rocked by a string of murders. Kappa House, the most sought-after sorority for pledges, is ruled with an iron fist (in a pink glove) by its Queen Bitch, Chanel Oberlin. But when anti-Kappa Dean Munsch decrees that sorority pledging must be open to all students, and not just the school’s silver-spooned elite, all hell is about to break loose, as a devil-clad killer begins wreaking havoc, claiming one victim, one episode at a time. Part black comedy, part slasher flick, Scream Queens is a modern take on the classic whodunit, in which every character has a motive for murder…or could easily be the next blood-soaked casualty. Heroes Reborn
Premieres on AFN|pulse Friday September 25, 7:00pm CET/JKT

Heroes RebornFrom the same creators who imagined NBC’s original critically acclaimed 2006 “Heroes” series, this epic 13-episode event chronicles the lives of ordinary people who discover they possess extraordinary abilities. Blamed for a terrorist attack, those with special abilities are in hiding or on the run from those with nefarious motives. While in hiding, some are discovering their newfound skills and some are fated to cross paths with assorted heroes of the past, including Hiro Nakamura, Matt Parkman, Mohinder Suresh and the Haitian, among others. Yet, together, their ultimate destiny is nothing less than saving the world and mankind. Stars Jack Coleman, Gatlin Green, Ryan Guzman, Robbie Kay, Rya Kihlstedt, Zachary Levi, Judith Shekoni, Kiki Sukezane, Danika Yarosh and Henry Zebrowski.

The Muppets
Premieres on AFN|pulse Monday September 28, 7:00pm CET/JKT

the MuppetsThe Muppets return to primetime with a contemporary, documentary-style show. For the first time ever, a series will explore the Muppets’ personal lives and relationships, both at home and at work, as well as romances, breakups, achievements, disappointments, wants and desires. This is a more adult, new Muppet series, for “kids” of all ages. Stars Steve Whitmire, Eric Jacobson, Dave Goelz, Bill Barretta, David Rudman, Matt Vogel and Peter Linz.

GrandfatheredSuccessful restaurateur and man-about-town Jimmy is used to being the most suave, most handsome and most single person in the room. But all that changes with the surprise appearance of Jimmy’s adult son, Gerald, and his baby daughter, Edie. The Grinder

The GrinderA comedy about two brothers: one a spotlight-grabbing actor who plays TV’s most popular lawyer and the other, a real-life small-town attorney who has yet to find his spotlight. Dean spent eight seasons playing the title role on the hit legal drama “The Grinder.” When his series ends, he decides to move back to his hometown of Boise, Idaho, where his brother, Stewart is poised to take over the family law firm. Despite having no law degree, no license to practice and no experience in an actual courtroom, Dean’s charisma and flair for the dramatic make him absolutely certain he has something to contribute to the firm. Dean and Stewart don’t see to eye to eye, but when they stop arguing with each other and start arguing together in court, they make a formidable team. Stars Rob Lowe, Fred Savage, William Devane, Mary Elizabeth Ellis, Hana Hayes, Connor Kalopsis and Natalie Morales.

Blood & Oil
Premieres on AFN|spectrum Saturday October 3, 7:00pm CET/JKT

Blood & OilBilly and Cody Lefever dream of a new life beyond their working class roots and move to “The Bakken” in North Dakota, booming after the biggest oil discovery in American history. They’re soon pitted against a ruthless tycoon who forces them to bet big and put everything on the line, including their marriage. Dr. Ken
Premieres on AFN|pulse Monday October 5, 8:30pm CET/JKT

Dr. KenBefore he was an actor, Ken Jeong was an honest-to-goodness M.D. Now, in “Dr. Ken,” the breakout comedy star of “The Hangover” movies and TV’s “Community” brings medicine and laughter together as a grumpy and beleaguered HMO doctor whose challenging professional life is trumped only by his home life, in which his success as a husband and father is brought into question on a daily, if not hourly, basis. Luckily, his therapist wife Allison is just the right partner to keep things sane. Stars Ken Jeong, Suzy Nakamura, Tisha Campbell-Martin, Dave Foley, Jonathan Slavin, Albert Tsai and Krista Marie Yu.

Crazy Ex Girlfriend
Premieres on AFN|pulse Thursday October 15, 8:00pm CET/JKT

Crazy Ex-GirlfriendRebecca Bunch is a single woman in pursuit of her elusive longtime soul mate Josh, who dumped her while they were dating in high school in 2005. It’s now 2015 and after being inspired by a TV commercial for a butter spread, she restarts her pursuit of Josh after she spots him in New York City. When he tells her that he is moving to West Covina, California (“Just two hours from the beach, four hours in traffic”), Rebecca decides to move there as well, hoping that it will give her a fresh start and hopefully bring her closer to the still-elusive Josh. Stars Rachel Bloom, Santino Fontana, Donna Lynne Champlin, Vincent Rodriguez III, Vella Lovell and Pete Gardner.

SupergirlKara Zor-El is Superman’s (Kal-El) cousin who, after 12 years of keeping her powers a secret, finally embraces her superhuman abilities to be the hero she was meant to be. Twelve-year-old Kara escaped Krypton at the same time as the infant Kal-El. Protected and raised on Earth by her foster family, Kara grew up in the shadow of her foster sister, Alex, and learned to conceal the powers she shares with her famous cousin keeping her identity a secret. Years later at 24, Kara lives in National City assisting media mogul and fierce taskmaster Cat Grant. Kara’s days of keeping her talents a secret are over when Hank Henshaw, head of a super-secret agency where her sister also works, enlists her to help them protect the citizens of National City from sinister threats. Chicago MedA new installment of the compelling Chicago franchise joins Chicago Fire and Chicago P.D. taking you on an emotional ride through the day-to-day chaos of the city’s most explosive hospital and the courageous team of doctors that holds it together. They will tackle unique new cases inspired by topical events, forging fiery relationships in the pulse-pounding pandemonium of the emergency room, and through it all, familiar faces from the Chicago Police and Fire departments will intertwine as this third team of Chicago heroes hits the ground running.
