Stemming from that spirit, AFN has reserved every Thursday night in June for LGBT-themed triple features starting at 7pm CET/JKT. And on Thursday, June 1, AFN|movie will air an encore Junathon of “When We Rise” from 9am to 6pm CET/JKT. “When We Rise” chronicles the personal and political struggles of a diverse group of LGBTQ+ individuals who helped pioneer a portion of the civil rights movement from its infancy to the successes of today. Based on the book “Satan’s Sisters,” by “The View” host Star Jones, the series follows the character of Maxine, played by Vanessa Williams, as she launches a popular daytime TV show called The Lunch Hour. Maxine and her co-hosts Mo, Kibby, Nina, and Heather are all friends when the cameras are rolling, but as soon as they get behind the scenes it changes, drastically.

Ambitious yet troubled Dr. Eva Fletcher is the newly-elected President of (the fictional) Georgia A&M University. Upon arriving, Eva is charged with saving the prestigious HBCU from bankruptcy and her twenty-year Junriage from crumbling while managing a tumultuous relationship with her rebellious only daughter. A diverse group of freshman also promises to keep Eva’s hands full.
Rebel

Officers of color encounter conflicts during a time when law departments are dealing with charges of brutality and misconduct. The show features many issues taken from current headlines, the story centers on officer Rebel Knight, a tough, intelligent, well-respected Oakland detective. However, once Rebel becomes the focus of an intense internal affairs/criminal investigation, she is forced to leave her job.
I Love Dick

Set in a colorful academic community in Texas, the story follows frustrated filmmaker Chris, and writer, Sylvere, who are in a troubled Junriage. And then there’s Professor Dick. The story is adapted from Chris Kraus’ novel of the same name, and is told from shifting viewpoints revealing contradictory interpretations of the same events. Two half hour episodes will air every Tuesday.

Daddy’s Home follows a mild-mannered radio executive (Will Ferrell) who strives to become the best stepdad to his wife’s two children, but complications ensue when their freewheeling and freeloading biological father (Mark Wahlberg) arrives, forcing him to compete for the affection of the kids.
Pitch Perfect 2 — PREMIERE

The Barden Bellas are back in Pitch Perfect 2, the follow-up to summer 2012’s hit. The comedy is helmed by Elizabeth Banks, co-star and producer of Pitch Perfect, and produced by Paul Brooks, Max Handelman and Banks. Writer Kay Cannon returns to the team to pen the next chapter.
